'Fan' (2009)

I originally created a collage of a fan that was on display in the studio. This comprised of painted pieces of paper, patterned paper, magazine snippets and physically cutting in to the paper. I then photocopied the image make the image blend together more.

'Spiral City' (2009)

For one of the tasks I was given, I had to create a 3D structure and repeat it 30 times. I then joined these all together to create a city-like structure.

After experimenting with it in different situations, I thought it would be interesting to destroy it by flooding it out.

I then attempted to create a memorial monument out of plaster. As a result of it's fragile properties, it broke up and became more of a ruin, mirroring the destruction of my fictional city and leaving something left that would represent it's history.

'The Smokey Bar Kid' (2009)

A couple of cartoon adverts I created based on underage smoking.

'Haunting Eyes' (2010)

This was drawn from a model that was on display at The Haunch Of Venison in London during the 'Hitting Every Head' exhibition by Jonas Burgert. I don't believe the model was by Burgert, but fitted perfectly in the exhibition. The thing that struck me were the glaring eyes. Obviously.

'213' (2010)

This is a piece made from strips of duct tape placed on paper and a gold pen. It is a representation of the apartment door of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer who would take young men back to his apartment in Milwaukee and murder, dismember and some times eat parts of his victims.

'Fire. Forest. Explosion.' (2010)

This was drawn during a 5 day trip to Paris. While looking through my work, I came across it in a makeshift sketchbook. The shapes at the top of the piece were of a random building, drawn while not looking at my page. Later that day, in a different location, I drew part of the outline of one of my friends. Then, on my last day in Paris, I drew a shape that I found on the side of a wall and wrote down words that came to mind. These separate drawings combined seem to connect and create a situation. I just wish I knew what '0871' was about.

'Restriction' (2010)

This was a one day project based on restriction. I made a box that I sat in in three different areas for 5 minutes each time attempting to restrict my movement further by creating a makeshift strait jacket. I cut up a shirt and used gaffa tape to tape myself up whilst inside a container that I could only just fit in. I had a restricted amount of light coming in to the box while I carried this out. After each 5 minute session, I would try as best as I could to wrote down how I felt and what had happened when other people interacted with the box, such as posting money in through the slits or kicking the box.

'Anger Management' (2010)

Quite self explanatory, using anger as an emotion, I covered my hands with black paint and punch a wooden board covered in white painted masking tape resting on the ground until I could no longer do it.
