So, yes my degree is over and I passed. Go me! I graduate in less than 2 weeks so I will then officially be Mark Green BA Hons. Pretty awesome.
On this very lazy Sunday, I have managed to upload a load of photos from the past year, my last at uni.It gives an insight in to what I've been interested in and ways in which my work has developed. It's been one of the hardest years for me, artistically and personally, and all the hard work I've put in has been worth every moment of earning my degree. It still hasn't hit me that I've actually passed, it will probably happen on the day of my graduation.
Anyway, I haven't got any exhibitions lined up at the moment. I've been relaxing since the degree show finished...well, I've been taking a break from art, I'm now doing a 9-5.30 job, not fun. I feel like I've needed this break to recharge the batteries.
I'm now ready to get back in to it all now.
Although I haven't been making, there have been some exciting things happening. This past Thursday, my piece 'Frankenbird' was part of an auction at Primary art studios. I have also signed a six month contract with Bohunk Gallery where myself along with about 12 other Fine Art graduates (still waiting on full details) will be sharing an art space together. This is something I can't wait to start. I'm not sure if it's official, but our collective is called Guild (I need to confirm this!). Whatever the name is, I'm excited and it will be great to start creating again. I want to get back in to creating more 2D, I've missed it over the past year and a half. It also means I can store my art supplies somewhere rather than my house....it takes up waaaaaaay too much space!! I can experiment more and I don't have to worry about explaining it in detail to accompany a piece of work! That aside, I will miss uni, I've learnt so much and met fantastic people.
So my next task is to create a Facebook page dedicated to my work. I'm also going to be going through a number of previous works, 2D and 3D and putting them up for sale in various places. If anyone is ever interested in buying any work from me, please feel free to contact me by emailing markwgreen@hotmail.co.uk, I'm easy to approach, friendly, a Libra, about 5' 10"......but more to the point, most of the work shown on this blog is available to buy.
I'll leave it there as I'm sure I've rambled on enough. It's only because I'm having a great time and happy that I've managed to completely update my blog with my work (I still need to write a statement really but my blog, my rules!). I'm going to crack open another beer and listen to some Dethklok (check them out, it's a must!)
